Workshop: LACA Ask the Experts
Bryan Lygate is Chief Operating Officer at Impact Food Group, responsible for catering services across more than 600 primary and secondary schools. He began his career in the retail sector, where he developed a strong focus on service quality and operational standards—principles that continue to guide his work in education catering.
Joining IFG in 2013 as an Operations Manager, Bryan progressed through senior roles including Regional Director, Operations Director, and Managing Director of State Schools. His broad experience across these roles has given him a comprehensive understanding of the operational challenges and opportunities within school food.
Bryan places particular emphasis on supporting and developing catering teams to consistently deliver high-quality food services that prioritise student wellbeing. Under his leadership, IFG has introduced initiatives to improve access to free school meals, strengthen operational support, and maintain consistent standards across all sites.
He is a Board Member of LACA and in 2024 was recognised with the LACA Roger Davis Outstanding Achievement Award for his contribution to the sector.
Bryan is an active LACA member and continues to focus on quality, sustainability, and innovation to ensure that catering services meet the needs of students and schools.
