Simon is NHS through and through, being in his 43rd year of service. After obtaining Hotel & Catering Management plus City and Guilds qualifications he commenced at C&V UHB where he has undertaken various Senior Manager roles including Project Management. Whilst the majority have focused on Catering, he has been a lead both strategically and operationally for major service changes and exercises including market testing, service modernisation, restructuring and reconfiguration, leading to service improvements which have enhanced the patient, staff and visitor experience.
Simon has managed both Soft and Hard FM services in a Senior Capacity but his passion is Catering Services linked to Public Health standards for Retail and Welsh Government directives for inpatients nutrition and catering. Along with the teams at C&V he has won and been part of many awards over the years, the last being the HSJ Partnership Award in response to COVID where he was a Lead Project Manager for Facilities Services at the Dragons Heart Hospital in the Principality Stadium during unprecedented times.
